We Run LUCKY RUN 10k/5k/1k

We Run LUCKY RUN is a timed event for ALL levels of runners and walkers.

We Run LUCKY RUN 10k/5k/1k will be held on Saturday March 16, 2019 at 10am. Registration for the 2019 We Run LUCKY RUN will OPEN on October 1st at 12:01am.



Packet Pick Up Info

March 14th, from 3pm-7pm at the We Run North Liberty Location.

March 15th, from 10am-6pm at the We Run North Liberty Location.

Day of packet pick up from 8:30am-9:45am at the start/finish area.

What do registration fees get me?

  • Bib (race number)
  • Entry into a chip timed event & sanctioned by the USATF
  • Name in the drawing for all the door prizes
  • Technical race day shirt (OPTIONAL) ***Shirts are athletic fit unisex sizes

Individual Awards

Individual awards will be given to for both the 5K and 10K event. 1K participants do receive a finishers medal but no individual awards given.

  • Overall Male and Female finishers 
  • 19 and under for placing 1st, 2nd or 3rd
  • 20-29 for placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd
  • 30-39 for placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd
  • 40-49 for placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd
  • 50-59 for placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd
  • 60 and over for placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd

LUCKY RUN event tech t-shirt


Race event t-shirt, this years tech shirt has an athletic fit and is based on unisex sizing. Concerned about the proper sizing stop by the one of our We Run locations and try on a sample shirt. Shirts are the same brand and cut as years past.

2019 finishers medal


All participants will receive a finishers medal regardless of distance ran. Cross the finish line and this medal is yours.

2018 route is the same as previous year, 1 lap for 5K and 2 laps for 10k distances. 1K will be an out and back from start line and start 5 minutes after the 5K and 10K event.

Hawkeye 50k/25k


Hawkeye 50k/25K

The Hawkeye 50K/25K registration is open. With the 25K and 50K starting at 8am on April 13, 2019 and the Ruck at 6am.

 The Hawkeye 50K/25K trail run and ruck is a spring event around the scenic McBride Lake. It starts in Solon at the Timber Dome Lodge and heads down the soft North Shore Trail into McBride State Park, then over to the spillway and through the waterfall, then up into the UofI gorgeous single track technical trail and back a few miles on Mahaffey Bridge Road into Solon. The 50K is two loops. There are four aid stations along the course. Hope you can join us for this amazing race 



Packet Pick Up Information

  • April 12th from 10am to 6pm at the We Run North Liberty Location only, items can not be picked up at the Cedar Rapids Location.
  • Day of packet pick up is available at the Timber Dome (Start/Finish) of event from 6:30am-7:45am


  •  8 hours for the 50K (must start 2nd lap by 11:45am) otherwise you will be pulled from course.
  •  8 hours for the 25K.
  • If you are pulled from the course after lap one due to time restrictions, participant will receive an official time for the 25K distance.


  •  50K - 8am to 4pm 
  •  25K - 8am to 4pm

Rules of the RUCK

Ruck Cut off time will be 10 hours and will start at 6am

Rucking Rules are:

  • Each participant must have their own Ruck sack with a minimum dry weight of 20lbs
  • Each participant prior to race start will need to weigh their pack without water and nutrition.
  • Each participant of 25K will be required to weigh their pack at the finish.
  • Each participant of 50K will be required to weigh their pack at the end of Lap 1 and finish.
  • Any time during the event if the ruck participants RuckPack does not meet the minimum required weight of 20lbs, the participant will be disqualified and will not receive an official time or ruck patch. However, we will allow the participant to complete the course and they will still receive a finishers medal.
  • No overall or age group awards given for Ruck category
  • All qualified Ruck finishers will also receive a Ruck patch along with the event finishers medal

What do I get for my registration?


Registration includes:

  • This event is on a off road trail. Strollers and pets are not allowed.
  • USATF sanctioned event.           
  • Awards breakdown as follows; 50k/25k top overall male and female, top three in AG 19 and under, 20-39, 40-59 and 60 and over, in both male and female.
  • This race will be a cup less event. This means you must have a personal hydration flask use at aid stations or during your adventure.
  • In years past, the post party has always been pot luck style. This makes for great variety and different foods every year. This year will be no different, bring your favorite post race dish to share, and who knows maybe you will discover a new favorite.

Individual Awards:

  • Overall male and female finisher for 50K and 25K
  •  Top 3 finishers in the following age groups: 19 & Under, 20-39, 40-59 and 60+ for both the 50K and 25K distance.
